Jerry Morris

Jerry Foster Morris, age 74, passed away peacefully at his home on April 12, 2026. He was born on February 29, 1952, in Stilson, Georgia, to the late Ivy Morris and Alice Morris.

Jerry was a lifelong carpenter, known for his strong work ethic, skilled hands, and the pride he took in building not just structures, but a life centered around family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who found his greatest joy in those he loved.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers, Ivy Morris Jr., Jimmy Morris, Ray Morris, Lonnie Morris, and Herbert Morris; his sisters, Sally Morris, Nora Morris, and Doris Morris; his grandson, Jesse Jernigan Jr.; his granddaughter, Michelle Lewis; and his great-grandson, RJ Lewis.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Gloria Morris; his children, April (Tommy) Morris, Janet (Jessie) Jernigan, Mary (AD) Wright, Jerry (Angie) Morris, and Hazel Morris; his brother, Donald Morris; his sister, Gloria Ann Morris; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Jerry's legacy will live on through the lives he touched, the family he built, and the love he gave so freely.

A memorial service to honor the life of Jerry will be held Sunday, April 26, 2026 at 3:00 PM at 400 Old Pond Lane, Statesboro, GA 30458.
