Carrie Lee Gordon Jones Obituary (1937

Carrie Lee Jones was born on April 8, 1937, in Sylvania, Georgia, to the late Carrie Amy Gordon and Willie L. Gordon. She was one of three sisters: Lizzie Mae Nunally and Elizabeth Woods, both of whom preceded her in death, and Annie Roberts, who is still standing strong at this present time. Carrie Lee Jones was united in marriage to Albert Willie Jones, who preceded her in death. In their time together, God blessed their union with three children: two sons and one daughter; Albert Jones Jr., Darlene Ezell, and the baby, Wayne Lonon. Carrie worked faithfully as a nurse throughout her life. She was a woman who lived by the Word of God. She loved going to church and giving God the glory. Obedience to Him was not a duty for her, it was devotion. She loved God deeply and taught her family the value of prayer and the importance of keeping God first. If she were still here today, you would likely hear her say, "God will provide." On February 5, 2026, Carrie Lee Jones peacefully went home to be with the Lord she loved and the husband who awaited her. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: one daughter, two sons; seven grandchildren, Albert, Keywanda, Jamel, Denise, Satin, Tyreek, and Bishop Jason Gill, also known as Terry; and 34 great-grandbabies, along with a host of extended family and loved ones who will forever hold her in their hearts. Funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, February 20, 2026 inthe Ollie B. Holland Memorial Chapel of Matthew h. Lovett & Son's Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the Simmons Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Sylvania, GA.
