Matthew H. Lovett & Son’s Funeral Home announces the passing of Mr. Collin Danjou Hagins, age 16, of Portal. Mr. Hagins passed away on Wednesday evening, August 28, 2024, at the Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle.
Collin Danjou Hagins was born August 31, 2007 in Statesboro, GA. He was currently a student at Portal Middle/High School and was a member of New Beginnings Community Fellowship Ministries.
Collin was a humble young man who embraced life fully, finding joy in its simplest moments. He loved listening to music, going fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandparents.
Collin departed his earthly life on August 28, 2024.
He leaves his memories to be cherished his son Khamari Harris; his biological mother Lutrell Taylor; his parents Rashad and Lynn Lipsey; maternal great grandmother Lutrell Ware and maternal great grandfather Eddie Lee Coffee; maternal grandparents Johnny and Minnie Hagins; grandmother Sandra Cross; three brothers Shawn Hagins, James (Serenity) Williams, Damien Hagins; three sisters Tia Hagins, Kierra Hagins, and Alycia Hagins; 2 nieces, 3 nephews, his god-mother and a host of aunts, uncles cousins and friends whom he loved dearly.
A public viewing for Collin will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. The family will receive guests for the family visitation from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Funeral services for Collin Hagins will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the New Beginnings Community Fellowship Ministries, 4235 Willow Hill Rd, Portal, GA 30450 with Overseer Emory Hagins, pastor/officiating; Rev. Germain Williams, presiding.
Burial will follow at Scarboro Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 21 Pecan Grove Rd, Portal, GA 30450.
Pallbearers will be cousins and friends.
