Grace Marcella Chance Fuller, age 67 departed this world on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA after a brief illness.

Grace's journey began on August 8, 1956, in Statesboro, GA, as the beloved daughter of Watson Edward Chance, Sr., and Ella Mae Mincey Chance. In 1958, the Chance family moved to Plainfield, New Jersey where Grace attended the public schools of Union County. She was a graduate of Plainfield High School in Plainfield, New Jersey.

A lifelong learner, Grace pursued education with unwavering dedication. She graduated from Ogeechee Technical College in 1992 earning an Associates Degree in Nursing. In 1993, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Her quest for knowledge later led her to Georgia Southern University where she majored in Nursing and Psychology from 1995 to 2000.

Grace's professional journey was nothing short of remarkable. She commenced her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Bulloch Memorial Hospital before expanding her expertise across various specialties including Phlebotomy, Medical Surgical Nursing, Emergency Room Care, Intensive Care Unit services, Infant Nursery Care, and Pain Management Nursing. Her commitment to excellence shone through numerous certifications such as CPR First Aid Certification, Patient Advocacy Certification, and specializations in HIV, Tuberculosis, and COVID education along with HIPAA Compliance.

Acknowledged for her outstanding contributions to the field of healthcare, Grace was honored as Nurse of the Quarter by East GA Regional Medical Center and esteemed as Nurse of the Year by Effingham Hospital Care Center where she served as a Floor Nurse Supervisor until her final days.

Beyond her professional pursuits lay Grace's joyful spirit enriched with hobbies she adored - relishing trips to the movies that stirred emotions within her soul through captivating stories; finding solace in the melodies that music offered; and embarking on traveling adventures that allowed her to experience life and culture in many other places.

Grace was a member of the Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church in Statesboro, GA.

Preceding her in death are her parents, the late Watson Edward Chance, Sr., and the late Ella Mae Chance, and a brother, the late Watson Edward Chance, Jr.

Grace's legacy continues through her surviving family members: her cherished sons Jamil Fuller and Kareem Fuller both of Statesboro, GA; her dear sister Angela Diane Chance of Lawrenceville, GA; and her good friend Robert Lee Butler of Statesboro, GA. She also leaves behind a multitude of other relatives and friends whose lives she touched with warmth and kindness.
