Mrs. Hattie Mae Budgett Glover, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend has left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Hattie Mae's journey began on March 25, 1949, in Statesboro, GA. She embraced life with a passion for nurturing others and ensuring their well-being. Her dedication to her family and her unwavering kindness towards all defined her personality – extremely sweet and loving, she always put the needs of others before her own. Her warm and gentle nature also graced the lives of the teachers and students she worked with in the Bulloch County School System for 19 years, where she touched the lives of many as a Teacher Assistant.
Hattie's love for cooking transcended mere culinary delight; it was a means through which she expressed affection for her family and friends. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she found joy in spending time with them. Embracing her faith, she frequented church where her spirit found solace. Additionally, her green thumb found expression in gardening, and she sought tranquility by going fishing, which she loved to do.
Sadly, on the evening of March 10, 2024, Hattie Mae bid farewell to this world from the comfort of her residence after bravely facing an extended illness. The legacy she leaves behind is one of love, compassion, and endless memories that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Hattie is reunited in eternal peace with her parents Trudie Melvin-Budgett and Johnett Budgett along with her siblings, Katie Budgett, Harry Budgett, and Janet Sheffield.
She is survived by a loving circle of family members and friends including her husband Willie Glover of Metter, GA; daughter Tina Spells of Metter, GA; sons James Edward (Demetria) Smith and Kevin Michael Smith both of Statesboro, GA; siblings Joseph Budgett of Millen, GA; Jessie James (Beulah) Budgett of Rocky Ford, GA; Nathaniel (Serena Wiggins) Budgett of Portal, GA; Willie Pearl Oliver of Millen, GA; Johnny Budgett of Miami, FL; Mary Linda (Cedric) Cooper of Ft.
