Capt. Jonathan Tyrone Taylor, US Army, Retired

Capt. Taylor, (US Army, Ret.) was a native of Brooklyn, New York but had decided to make Statesboro his home in recent years. He was born to his parents the late Lester Taylor, Jr. and the late Cherry Deloris Applewhite. He was a graduate of The United States Military Academy at West Point in West Point, New York where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. After graduating from West Point and becoming a full-time officer in the Army, he received the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Upon his retirement from the United States Army, he received an honorable discharge with the rank of Captain. Jonathan was a brilliant man and lived a quite simple life. He will certainly be missed by all who loved him.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Medina Fonville, a niece and nephew, all of Brentwood New York, and a host of cousins and friends,

Per Jonathan's wishes, he asked that his loved ones remember him as he was. There will be no services planned and his final disposition will be by cremation.
