Josetta Sharpe

Josetta Griffin Sharpe was born in Ailey, Georgia, to the late Joseph and Jeanette Griffin. She departed this life on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Community Hospice in Vidalia, Georgia.

Josetta loved fishing, cooking, and spending time with her closest loved ones and friends. She was always willing to help others in any way that she could. She also loved hosting events and dinners for her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raiford Sharpe; her parents, Joseph and Jeanette Griffin; two sisters, Marion Hayward and Annette G. Davis; and two brothers, Robert Griffin and Jessie Griffin.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving children, James Earl Brown and Tetio Brown, both of Vidalia, Georgia, and a precious daughter, Sabrina Brown of Collins, Georgia.

She also leaves nine grandchildren: Kejuan Jackson, Kedrion Jackson, Jamiyah (Cameron) Craig, Joh’neshae Mincey, Damion Bellamy, Darius Mincey, Ke’von Mincey, Markevia Collins, and Malcolm Brown; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by three brothers: Roy Lee Griffin of Soperton, Georgia, and Kenneth Griffin and Joseph (Robin) Griffin Jr., both of Vidalia, Georgia; and four sisters: Priscilla Griffin and Sharon D. Rhodes, both of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Frances Griffin and Eva G. Lamar, both of Lyons, Georgia.

Josetta Griffin Sharpe will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Family visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the House of God Church, 164 N Monroe St., Lyons, GA.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Josetta Sharpe will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the House of God Church, 164 N Monroe St., Lyons, GA; Rev. Roandle Day, pastor/presiding, and Elder Bobby Sharpe, eulogist.

Interment will follow at the Eastview Cemetery in Soperton, GA.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Phillips, Brayden Jones, Luther Hunt, Farris Hunt, Jessie Griffin, Gromiko Hudson, Malcolm Brown, and Steve Rhodes, Jr.
