Matthew H. Lovett & Son’s Funeral Home announces the passing of Mrs. Sharmin D. Smith-Lee, age 56, of Statesboro. Mrs. Smith-Lee passed away Friday morning, December 20, 2024, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro after a very sudden illness.
Mrs. Sharmin Denise Smith-Lee was born on January 16, 1968, to the late Roscoe Sneed and Mattie J. Smith. She was educated in the Bulloch County School System, graduating from Statesboro High School as a member of the class of 1986. She went on to achieve her Associates Degree in Accounting and devoted 26 years of inspiration, motivation, encouragement, and hard work to Walmart Supercenter in Statesboro, Georgia.
On December 20, 2024, she transitioned into a peaceful sleep, preceded in death by her parents, the late Roscoe Sneed and the late Mattie J. Smith; a son the late DiQuaalo Ivey; and her beloved grandparents the late Cleveland and Frankie R. Smith.
Remembrance:
Sharmin was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and confidant to all who knew her. She was known for her humility, wit, bright smile, kind heart, and the care she poured into everyone she encountered. Everyone will forever remember Sharmin as the Sweetheart!
To cherish her memories, she leaves her loving husband Ardravius Lee; three daughters: Yashica Smith, Jonquil Smith, and TaNiyah Scott - all of Statesboro, GA; one son, Sharif (Bieja) Smith also of Statesboro, GA; and step-daughter Londyn Lee both of Statesboro, GA; three brothers: Anthony Smith and Mortez Stevens both of Statesboro, GA; Gregory (Chaundra) Smith of Stone Mountain, GA; three sisters: Yolande Williams and Pamela Williams both of Statesboro, GA; and Talaya Young of Conyers, GA. She also leaves 8 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.
Tribute:
With heavy hearts, we remember "The Sweetheart" Sharmin Smith-Lee, a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, devoted friend, and cherished soul who touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a constant source of love, wisdom, and strength; always putting others first and making the world a better place with her kindness and grace. Her dedicated support and boundless generosity will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, compassion, and a deep sense of family that will continue to inspire and guide us through the years ahead.
Celebration:
A public viewing for Mrs. Smith-Lee will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, from Noon to 5:00 PM. The family will receive guests for the family visitation from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
There will be a memorial balloon release in memory of Sharmin on the night of the visitation at 5:15 PM at the funeral home. The balloon colors are white and pink.
Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Smith-Lee will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Believers Church, 6495 Harville Rd, Statesboro, GA 30458 with Rev. Dr. Alexander Smith, officiating, Elder Donald Chavers, presiding, Pastor Scott Moore, is the pastor.
Burial will follow at Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery, 760 Magnolia Church Rd, Statesboro, GA 30461.
Pallbearers will be Sharmin's Sisters and God-Sisters: Yolande Williams, Talaya Young, Sherita Prince, LaTasha Thomas, TaKennia Crawford, Lena White, Janet Rivers, Chamieya Canty, and Tiffany Lee.
